What license does background music for ads need?

For a paid video ad using an existing recording, check permission to synchronize the composition and master recording with your visuals, and make sure the agreement covers the intended advertising use. Nanashino-chan directs paid ads and brand campaigns to a Sync License or a custom agreement. The standard Commercial Creator License is for eligible non-ad content; it does not cover paid ads.

Choose a soundtrack that serves the ad

Good background music supports the story, pacing and product. Test the edit with dialogue on, on a phone speaker and at the volume your audience will actually hear.

01 · Message

Protect the voiceover

Leave space for speech, product sounds and the call to action. A restrained instrumental can help when the spoken message carries the sale.

02 · Mood

Match the product

Warm grooves can suit lifestyle and food; lighter textures can support software demos; atmospheric music can add polish to fashion or design visuals.

03 · Edit

Plan the ending

Check the opening seconds, any transition and the final logo or offer. Cut or fade the music deliberately rather than letting the track stop mid-phrase.

Where this music can fit

Nanashino-chan makes original lo-fi, chillhop, jazzhop and related instrumental music for calm, modern visual work. The right license depends on the final use, not just the video format.

Product & lifestyle ads

Show a product in use, an unboxing, a creative process or a hospitality setting without overwhelming the visuals.

Brand & launch films

Build a consistent atmosphere for a new product, seasonal campaign or short brand story.

Explainers & B2B

Add subtle movement under a SaaS demo, company video, real estate tour or service introduction.

These are creative examples, not a blanket grant for every medium. Confirm the planned platforms and campaign terms before use.

Start with a musical direction

These Nanashino-chan tracks illustrate different moods to audition for an ad. Track selection and licensing are separate steps: hearing a track does not grant permission to use it.

Warm · Lifestyle

Smooth Groove

A relaxed groove to test against stationery, interior, café or everyday product visuals.

Try it with: tactile close-ups and gentle motion.

Polished · Fashion

Diamond Dreams

A more refined mood to audition for beauty, fashion and premium product storytelling.

Try it with: clean cuts and elegant reveal shots.

Clear · Product

Smooth Transitions

A restrained starting point for interface demos, explainers and product walkthroughs.

Try it with: voiceover and on-screen text.

Soft · Wellness

Ambient Flow

A quieter option for skincare, reflective storytelling and unhurried visual sequences.

Try it with: spacious edits and softer transitions.

Availability of a particular track and the approved use should be checked when choosing the license. The catalog contains 2,000+ original lo-fi tracks.

Music availability is different from ad permission

A track being free to hear, downloadable, or visible in an app does not by itself establish permission for a paid campaign. Conversely, a free track can be appropriate when its actual terms explicitly cover the planned advertising use.

Music sourceWhat to checkAd use
Streaming releaseListening access and a download are not an advertising license.Get permission for the actual recording, composition and campaign.
Free or stock libraryRead the terms for paid ads, brands, platforms, territories, duration and any required credit.May work if the license covers your specific use.
In-app musicCheck the platform's current business and advertising rules, including whether use extends beyond that app.Do not assume a selectable sound covers paid distribution everywhere.
Direct sync licenseConfirm the named track, rights, licensee, campaign, dates, platforms and any add-ons.Use within the agreed scope; platform review still applies.
Rights-holder permission does not guarantee ad approval. Platforms may apply separate ad policies, account checks and automated copyright systems. Keep documentation ready and allow time to resolve any claim before launch.

Which Nanashino-chan license fits an ad?

The difference is the use you need to authorize. A monetized creator video or an organic business post is distinct from running the same creative as a paid ad or boosted post.

Sync License options

The licensing page currently lists 1 month ($500), 3 months ($1,200), 1 year ($3,000) and perpetual ($5,000) options. Multi-platform distribution and ad whitelisting may require add-ons. Review the current product terms and confirm the proposed project scope before purchasing; a longer period alone does not expand every other permission.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a song from Spotify or Apple Music in a video ad?

A listening or download subscription does not itself license synchronization with an ad. Obtain the permissions required for the composition and the recording, and check the advertising scope.

Can I boost a Reel that already uses music?

Boosting changes the distribution to paid advertising. Check whether the existing music permission covers that use before promoting the post. For Nanashino-chan music, review the Sync License or request custom terms.

Is free music always unsuitable for ads?

No. Some free or stock music licenses allow specific commercial uses. Read the actual terms for paid advertising, the planned platforms, duration and any restrictions before relying on them.

Does a Sync License prevent every Content ID claim or ad rejection?

No. A license documents permitted use within its terms. Automated claims and platform ad reviews can still occur. Keep the certificate and receipt; contact Nanashino-chan for support with a claim involving approved licensed use.

Is one license enough for several platforms or a client campaign?

Only if those uses are within the agreed terms. Confirm platforms, client and licensee, ad account arrangements, duration and any multi-platform or whitelisting add-on before launch.
